Join us to learn about medications and their effects on cognition with psychiatrist, Dr. Miguel Rivera. We’ll explore how prescription and over-the-counter medications can contribute to cognitive impairment. About the Speakers:

Miguel Rivera, MD is an adult psychiatrist in private practice in Sarasota, FL, and is medical director of TriYoga International. He graduated from the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, MO, and graduated from Psychiatry Residency Training at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL.

Dr. Rivera is a sought after speaker, at national and international venues, on topics relating to the influence of lifestyle in Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias, as well as yoga related topics like asana, meditation, and breath work. Last year, Dr. Rivera presented two talks at the Harvard /Massachusetts General Hospital Dementia Care Collaborative on the topics of medications and stress management.

Louise Gallagher, MS, LMFT, CDP, is a certified life coach and educator who retired from a 25-year psychotherapy practice in Modesto, CA. She has appeared on TV, radio, and in local magazines. She has a master’s degree in counseling from CA State University, Fullerton and attended both USC and University of the Pacific for doctoral work in Counseling. She volunteers with the Alzheimer’s Association educating the community about dementia and co-facilitating support groups. Her interests revolve around positive aging and transitions in later life.
